My sister, Linda Kay, recently had a big operation, so I went to her house to take care of her for when she came home from the hospital. After a few days, she got her appetite back and asked for some roasted turkey breast and mashed potatoes with my special gravy. She also requested, “Don’t forget the cranberry sauce. I’m really craving some cranberry sauce.”
So, I roasted a fresh turkey breast in the oven, made some mashed potatoes, and spent a half hour making my special cranberry sauce from fresh cranberries, and took it to her on a try to her bedroom. When I brought it to her she said,“Oh, thank you, Bobbi Jo. This looks great! But, uh, can you just give me some cranberry sauce from the can? I think we have some in the pantry.” Dear me. I guess some habits die hard. But she’s my sister and her wish is my command;even when it’s from a (Lord, forgive me) a can! Here’s the 30 minute version of the recipe.
