My Momma used to serve these here meatballs as an appetizer for all her many dinner parties. And honey, they were so good that there would never be any left over! So, knowin’ this, me and my brother made sure that Momma always put some aside and insisted she served ’em for us over rice. She called it our very own special Kiddie Meatball Dinner Party!

INGREDIENTS
Meatballs:
1 pound ground sirloin
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons seasoned breadcrumbs
½ teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon each salt and ground black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 egg (beaten)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Sauce:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
½ cup onion (chopped fine)
¾ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1 cup ketsup
1 tablespoon soy sauce
INSTRUCTIONS
In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef and all of the rest of the meatball ingredients.
After mixing well, form the meat mixture into golf ball- sized meatballs.
Git out your skillet and heat the olive oil hot on a medium heat and gently brown those meatballs, a few at a time in batches, ‘til done.
Now set them meatballs aside and do the sauce.
Wipe out the skillet you just browned the meatballs in, and place the skillet back on a medium heat, and add the vegetable oil.
Once it’s hot, add the chopped onions and cook until translucent.
Now, add in the ketsup and the rest of the sauce ingredients, stirring to mix well.
Bring this sauce to a gentle boil.
Now add them browned meatballs you’ve already cooked to the sauce in the skillet and bring it all to a boil. Then, reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, for 30 more minutes.
Serve ‘em over rice or serve as an appetizer with some large colored plastic toothpicks. Actually, it don’t matter how you serve ‘em, these here meatballs are YUMMY!
